Chelsea frontrunners to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig

Chelsea have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig next summer.

The Premier League giants were keen on move to sign the Frenchman over the summer, but the Bundesliga outfit convinced him to stay put with a new contract.

The deal has a €60 million release clause which gets active next summer, and the Blues appear leading the race to trigger it.

According to Bild, Chelsea are already making strides towards the Germany international, having already completed a medical.

Furthermore, Fabrizio Romano claims that the Blues are considering talks with Leipzig in January in order to find an agreement.

The West Londoners want to negotiate a pre-agreement for the same transfer fee.
