Barcelona considering move for Saul Niguez

Barcelona have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old midfielder is currently plying his trade on loan at Chelsea, having made seven starts and nine substitute appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

It has been widely documented that the Spain international will return to his parent club later this year, but it appears that the playmaker will have alternative options.

According to Sport, the Catalan giants Barcelona are interested in signing Saul with head coach Xavi said to be an admirer of his ability.

Although the Blaugrana are currently dealing with financial issues, the report adds that Los Rojiblancos are due to pay money to Barca for Antoine Griezmann during the summer.
