Lille star Boubakary Soumare is reportedly the subject of interest from Manchester United, according to The Daily Express.

The Red Devils have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

The report adds that Manchester United are contemplating an offer for the 20-year-old midfielder but the Premier League giants want one final check before submitting an official bid.

United can expect to face competition from a number of top European clubs for the youngster, with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and AC Milan have all been credited with an interest in the promising Ligue 1 talent.

However, the report claims that Man United have taken the lead in the race to sign Soumare in the January transfer window.

The 20-time English champions need to bolster their midfield following injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay to leave the club short on options in the middle of the park.
