Barcelona are gearing up to make a fresh bid for RCD Mallorca’s 18-year-old sensation Marc Domenech, following a failed initial attempt.
The young Spaniard, who has dazzled in age-group football and impressed during a loan spell at CD San Francisco by netting 21 league goals, is now back at Mallorca but may not stay long.
Barcelona’s interest in Domenech is fueled by their need to fill the gap left by Marc Guiu’s recent transfer to Chelsea. With Rafael Marquez pushing for a new striker for the reserve team, Domenech has become a top target. Negotiations with his entourage and Mallorca are reportedly progressing well.
The Blaugrana’s initial bid of €300,000 was insufficient, especially given Domenech’s potential release clause jump to €3 million if he moves to Mallorca’s reserve team next season.
As Barcelona prepares a new proposal, it’s clear that securing Domenech could be a key move for the club’s future. Whether this new bid will meet Mallorca’s demands remains to be seen, but the Catalan giants are keen to bring the promising attacker into their fold.
