Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign the talented defender Goncalo Inacio from Sporting Lisbon.
The Gunners are already in advanced talks with Ajax for the versatile Jurrien Timber, who is expected to join their ranks soon. However, the club seems keen on bolstering their defensive options further.
Inacio, a rising star in Portuguese football, had an outstanding season with Sporting. Known for his impeccable passing accuracy of over 90 percent, the left-footed prodigy also demonstrated his defensive prowess with nearly two clearances and tackles per game.
While Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old, Arsenal are ready to offer them some competition. Inacio’s current release clause stands at €45 million, and with his rejection of a new long-term deal at Sporting, the club are open to accepting the fee in instalments over several years.
