Liverpool retain interest in Matheus Nunes
Liverpool reportedly still hold an interest in signing Matheus Nunes despite his club-record move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined the Wolves from Sporting Lisbon last month for a fee said to be around £38m plus £4.2m in add-ons.
The West Midlands outfit managed to beat the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea to land the midfielder on a five-year contract.
Despite his big-money switch to Molineux, Portuguese news outlet UOL claims that Liverpool have not given up hope of signing the Portugal international.
The report goes on to claim that Jurgen Klopp’s side does intend to invest heavily in a new wingman in 2023 and the Portuguese man is one of at least three names on their shortlist of summer targets.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez are two other names.
