Fulham on verge of signing Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg

Fulham are expected to wrap up a deal for Wolfsburg full-back Kevin Mbabu ahead of their 2022-23 Premier League campaign, according to The Daily Mail.

It was revealed that the Cottagers were closing in on a deal for the 27-year-old defender in recent weeks, as manager Marco Silva continues to strengthen his side ahead of their return to the English top flight.

Fulham have only signed Joao Palhinha and Andreas Pereira during the transfer window so far this summer. However, a third new arrival is on the cards in the form of Mbabu, according to the Mail, who are reporting that a £6.4m deal to bring the Switzerland international to the Premier League is close to being sealed.

The report outlines that the full-back completed the second part of his medical for the Cottagers out in Portugal on Saturday.

He is expected to join up with his new teammates on Monday, with Fulham also returning following the conclusion of their pre-season tour.

The full-back joined the German outfit from Young Boys for around £8.1m in 2019 and has since gone on to make 82 appearances for the club across all competitions.
