Chelsea have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest as an alternative to Everton’s Lucas Digne.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are said to be in the market for defensive reinforcements, having seen a season-ending injury to left wing-back Ben Chilwell, while Reece James has suffered a torn hamstring.
The Blues are reportedly in the race to sign Everton left-back Lucas Digne, alongside the likes of West Ham United, Newcastle United and Serie A outfit Napoli.
However, the Daily Star reports that Chelsea are weighing up a move for Barcelona’s Dest as an alternative option on the left and right side of defence.
Having fallen out of favour, the United States international has started just one La Liga game for the Blaugrana since October.
The Catalan giants are open to letting the American leave the club this month in order to improve their wage budget, with the new signing Ferran Torres is unable to be registered due to financial issues.
Barcelona would reportedly demand £30m for Dest, who arrived at Camp Nou in 2020 and has since gone on to make 57 appearances for the Spanish outfit across all competitions.
