Barcelona have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Manchester United out-of-favour Donny van de Beek on loan in January.
The 24-year-old midfielder has struggled to cement his place as a first-team regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and supposedly wants to quit his Man United stint at the beginning of 2022.
Sport claims that the Catalan giants are aiming to take advantage of the Dutchman’s situation by swooping for the midfielder over the mid-season transfer window.
The report goes on to claim that the deal would include an option to buy in the future, and the Blaugrana are hopeful that Van de Beek’s arrival at Camp Nou would add a much-needed strength in the midfield.
Van de Beek, who is contracted to the Red Devils until 2025 – has only played six minutes for United this season.
