Liverpool have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella in this summer’s transfer window.
The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring in reinforcements ahead of next season and will prioritise the signing of attacking midfielder, following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Calciomercato, the Merseyside giants are preparing to make an offer for Barella, with the Nerazzurri reluctantly willing to sell some of their key players due to their financial concerns.
The Italy international, who still has three years left to run on his contract, is believed to be valued at around £60 million, though the Premier League giants are unlikely to afford such a fee unless they offload some of their own players.
The 24-year-old has become a key figure since his move from Cagliari in 2019 and helped Inter to win the Serie A title for the first time in over a decade last season.
Barella scored thrice and registered 13 assists for Inter in 46 appearances across all competitions last term.
