Newcastle United keen on signing Arsenal midfielder

Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to The Daily Mail.

The England international has another two years left to run on his contract, and reports suggests that the Gunners are keen to offload him during the ongoing transfer window.

The Magpies have placed emphasis on signing the 23-year-old as a potential midfield target, but the £20m price tag remains an issue.

Leicester City, Southampton and Burnley have also been linked with Maitland-Niles, who spent the second half of last season on loan with West Bromwich Albion.

The Foxes and Saints attempted to sign the Englishman on loan in January this year.
