Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly reignited their interest in Ainsley Maitland-Niles after the attacking midfielder asked Arsenal for a loan exit.
The Gunners rejected a £15m offer for the England international from Wolves in the summer.
The West Midlands outfit instead turned to Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo, but The Mirror claims that Maitland-Niles – able to play in a variety of positions in the middle of the pitch and is back on their radar.
The 23-year-old playmaker is said to be seeking a move away from the Emirates for the second half of the season after struggling for minutes under manager Mikel Arteta.
The La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid have also expressed an interest in Maitland-Niles, it is claimed, but the Arsenal academy product is expected to remain in the English top flight if a loan move is sanctioned in the final days of the January transfer window.
