Report – Liverpool eye David Alaba

Liverpool have reportedly accelerated their pursuit of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba as they attempt to secure his signature in the summer, according to The Guardian.

The Reds are “pushing hard” to sign the Austria international in the summer transfer window.

The Premier League champions are interested in a swoop to sign the 28-year-old defender in the summer when the player’s contract will come to an end at Allianz Arena.

Liverpool could face tough competition given that Real Madrid are also interested in the full-back, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer.

The report adds that the Spanish champions have a big advantage in the race to sign Alaba as the versatile defender has always dreamt about playing for Los Blancos at some point in his career.

Alaba has scored 32 goals in 405 appearances for the Bavarians.
