Report – Everton to rival Liverpool for Torino’s Gleison Bremer

Everton are reportedly keen to edge out Liverpool in the race to sign Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer.

The defending Premier League champions have allegedly identified the 23-year-old Brazilian as a possible January signing, having lost both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to long-term injuries.

The Reds are expected to move for a new centre-back at the turn of the year, with Bremer seemingly the ideal option, having made a strong start to the ongoing campaign with the Serie A outfit.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are also interested in Bremer’s signature, who is contracted to Torino until 2023.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has been concerned of his team’s defending in recent weeks and is allegedly keen to add a new centre-half in that area of the field during the mid-season transfer window.

Bremer racked up 48 appearances for Torino since his move from Atletico Mineiro in 2018.
