Newcastle United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing a loan deal for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.
Since arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, the 22-year-old forward has failed to make his mark at the Bernabeu during the 2019-20 campaign. having scored twice in 26 outings for Los Blancos in all competitions.
According to The Shields Gazette, Newcastle United’s scouts have identified the Serbia international as a potential loan signing for the 2020-21 season as the Premier League outfit look to strengthen their attacking options.
The Magpies don’t have much in the way of striking options and are in desperate need of a highly-rated striker and the signing of Jovic fits the bill. However, a loan deal could be an option that works for both sides.
Jovic has scored 36 goals in 75 outings for Frankfurt before joining the Spanish giants.
