Man City to rival Man United for the Portuguese midfielder
Manchester City have allegedly earmarked Sporting Lisbon prolific midfielder Bruno Fernandes as their top January transfer targets.
Since the beginning of the New Year 2020, the Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
However, despite the 25-year-old allegedly agreeing personal terms, the two parties are yet to agree a fee for the midfielder.
According to Correio de Manha, Manchester City may look to take advantage of Fernandes’ situation as manager Pep Guardiola looks to revamp his squad next season.
The report adds that City are willing to go as high as £86 million, significantly more than their arch rivals Manchester United.
Should United follow up any interest, the Citizens may prefer to wait until the summer before completing a deal for the Lisbon star.
