Arsenal plot £43m bid for Pau Torres?

Arsenal are ready to pounce for Villarreal defender Pau Torres by making a £43m bid to sign him in the January transfer window.

Arsenal head-coach Unai Emery is under pressure to bolster his defence in the new year following a recent record of one win from six games.

The Gunners signed David Luiz over the summer but remain on the lookout for new players in central defence due to the poor forms of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis.

According to The Sun, the north Londoners have identified Torres as a January target and are willing to trigger his £43m release clause.

The 22-year-old defender has been impressive to the 2019-20 season and recently scored on his debut for Spain during a 7-0 victory over Malta.
