Manchester United are weighing up a January move for Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s most trusted coaching staff observed him in the Championship side’s matches against Birmingham and Preston North End respectively.
After spending four years in Leeds United’s youth academy, the 23-year-old defensive midfielder joined the senior side in 2014 and has since gone on to make 156 appearances for them, netting 11 times while providing nine assists.
According to The Sun, Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Phillips, who is reportedly valued at €11 million but the Championship outfit rejected an offer of £27 million from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer.
The midfielder has been in excellent form for Leeds this campaign, scoring a goal and an assist in 15 outings across all competitions.
Phillips recently signed a new contract committing to the Whites until 2024. Hence, it will be difficult for the Red Devils to sign him in January.
