Manchester United are closely monitoring the rise of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to The Daily Record, as quoted by Metro.
The Red Devils have made contact with the Frenchman about a potential move in the January transfer window.
The report adds that the 23-year-old frontman is keen on a move to the north-west giants in January to help United bolster their attacking options.
The 20-time English champions could have to pay £71m for the France international if the Ligue 1 outfit are able to secure their asking price for the striker.
Dembele is unhappy with his current situation at Les Gones, which could play into United’s hands ahead of the mid-season transfer window.
The French striker has scored six goals in 10 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
The former Celtic star started his professional career at Fulham before the Hoops signed him in 2016.
