Liverpool eye £67m bid for Marco Asensio

Liverpool have reportedly expressed an interest in making a £67m bid to sign Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio, according to Spanish media outlet El Desmarque, as quoted by the Daily Star.

The Reds are preparing a big-money offer to sign the 23-year-old midfielder, who has scored one goal and has provided four assists in 30 La Liga games last term.

The report adds, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Asensio and the German boss wants to land the Real Madrid star as a potential back up for Mohamed Salah.

The Champions League winners have only signed Dutchman Sepp van den Berg in a £1.6m deal from FC Twolle this summer.

Asensio has scored twice in seven Champions League appearances for Los Blancos.
